pirate's cove playroom
Here is our latest creative venture. I cannot take full credit. It pains me to tell you that we splurged and paid a wonderful group of ladies to paint this for us. I have NEVER paid someone to paint something in my life!! I will add that it was totally affordable and worth it. I did learn a lot from watching them and would be willing to share details with anyone who requests such info...
The ship is awesome, and the pirate is so cool. Not Jack Sparrow cool, but little boy pirate room cool. We have one wall that is completely netting with a shabby anchor hanging that i found on eBay for 1.99, plus minimal shipping :) We are still in accessory mode, but it has been a huge hit!!
This map was a pottery barn kids find, and on sale! My mom and grandmother have a wonderful machine that i used to monogram their names at the bottom of the map.We also used the scripture reference of Matthew 6:19-21. My husband and i come from very different backgrounds growing up, and we want our kids to know that Earthly treasure is not what is important. The "Aye! Treasure!" is taken from one of my son's favorite books about a little boy named Jeremy Jacobs who wants to be a pirate, then realizes that no one will read him bedtime stories on the ship and that pirate's teeth are all green.
We then decided to put their names in their room over their beds and it turned out so sharp!! I am sure before too long their will be masking tape down the center the room and lots of 'mine' going on...but for now, they love it!
Well, Supermom (since i have no idea how to link anything!!) here's our latest playroom idea and a some pics of my two little pirates.

if anyone can clue me in on how to link, apparently that did not work!
I don't know how to link. I will send Supermom your way. She is the pro. Big brother looks like he is a teenager in that one picture. The room rocks!!!
Oh, girl! That is sooooo cute!!!
Now I'm inspired :-)
To link, highlight the text you want to link and click on the little button at the top that has a globe and two little "chain links". Then type or paste the address of the site you are linking.
Clear as mud, right?
Let me know if that makes no sense. It would be so much easier if I were standing over your shoulder.
BTW - You need to get with your sis and let's plan a girls' night out!!
Just what Supermom said, only don't forget to:
(1) FIRST go to the exact page you want to link
(2)highlight the address from your bar up top.
(3) Then press and hold "CTRL" while then pressing "C" That copies and holds the highlighted address in your computer's memory.
(4) Do what Supermom said
(5) When you get to the linkie window, paste the address by pressing and holding, "CTRL" with "V"
Does that work?
thanks for everyone's help! now i think i can do it...if i could just figure out how to not get anonymous weird comments? is it the word verification? i just added that and deleted the 'how to make $900 extra bucks'!
